Selection of red raspberry genotypes (Rubus idaeus L.)

Faculty of Agriculture, Belgrade-Zemun (1,2,3,4)

Abstract:

Pomological properties of seedlings obtained by open pollination of Meeker's yellow clone were investigated. From over a 100 seedlings obtained from this progeny, 16 genotypes with red fruits were selected on the Experimental Station 'Radmilovac' that belongs to the Faculty of Agriculture in Belgrade. Dunnett-test was used for single testing of physical and chemical traits of raspberry genotypes.

Variability of some traits of flax seed in respect to genotype and climatic conditions

Faculty of Agriculture, Belgrade-Zemun (1)
Medicinal Plants Research “Dr Josif Pančić”, Belgrade (2)

Abstract:

Beside its multiple use in oil producing and feed industry, flax seed is used also in pharmaceutical industry as additional medicinal component, whether as mono component or in tea mixtures. Results of a two-year cultivation of several flax genotypes are analyzed. The highest yield of seed in both study years was achieved in genotype "Z" and the lowest in standard cultivar "Mira". In regard to germination energy and total germination, the best value was determined for genotype "B" and the lowest for standard cultivar "Mira".

Variability of major traits of marigold seed in respect of genotype and climatic conditions

Institute for Medicinal Plant Research “Dr Josif Pančić”, Belgrade (1)
Faculty of Agriculture, Belgrade-Zemun (2)

Abstract:

The results of the two-year comparative research of qualitative and quantitative traits of marigold seed of different genotypes in regard to the standard cultivar were analyzed. The highest yield of seed in both study years was registered in genotype "King orange", and the lowest in genotype "R". Concerning the quality of seed, that is, germination energy and total germination, the best results were established for genotype "King orange" and the poorest for genotype "R" in both study years.

Effect of genotype on sugar beet yield and quality

Faculty of Agriculture, Belgrade-Zemun (1,2,3,4)
Agricultural Institute “Tamiš“, Pančevo (5)

Abstract:

The effect of a considerable number of both domestic and foreign sugar beet genotypes on root yield and quality was investigated. The data demonstrated the most favorable results of some genotypes for root yield and sugar content. Trials were conducted on rhizomania infested soil, thus tolerant genotypes were used. Susceptible cultivars represented the control. In the trial root yield was high and sugar content low. On average, in the genotypes tested, root yield varied from 73.98 to 93.30 t/ha and sugar content from 11.90 to 13.36%, depending on weather conditions.

The influence of genotype on ribwort-plantain (Plantago lanceolata) yield and quality

Medicinal Plants Research Institute “Dr Josif Pančić”, Belgrade (1)
Faculty of Agriculture, Belgrade-Zemun (2,3)

Abstract:

The preliminary results of a two-year comparative investigation of two genotypes of ribwort-plantain in the agroecological conditions of west Serbia (Gorobilje), south Banat (Pančevo) are given. Genotype originating from the international exchange (marked with 'D') was compared with 'domestic' genotype which has been raised at the Medicinal Plants Research Institute 'Dr Josif Pančić', Belgrade, for more than ten years.
